After much waiting, it's out! ARIA The ORIGINATION episode 2!
Yes, we've taken a long time, but we hope you all understand that the lives of our staff can't take back seat to fansubbing.
As such, there have been some delays, but we're slowly gathering a bit of momentum so hopefully you won't have to wait so long for the next one.
I think I say that every time, but I do mean it. Honestly! Razz

So here we go again, with episode 2. Enjoy! Very Happy

Jolly good, jolly good. It was nice to watch an episode of Aria.

I only hope they would have told a bit more about the old madam, seeing how she was so central to the plot.

Also, it surprised me the places Akari showed seemed to be new to Aika and Alice - aren't they always training together? You would think somebody like Akari couldn't have kept any great places a secret from them. She isn't really a very jealous, secretive and introverted person.

Although those fancy numbers tell me absolutely nothing, I don't doubt your words. However, don't let getting the file size down to ever become some sort of a godly goal for you. Even if you proved it doesn't mean lower quality in practice, people will get suspicious if it gets any smaller than this.

Probably the same as how Akari seems to know many more people than either Aika or Alice. Especially considering that she is from man home and not AQUA. Also, it would have been nice to have known a bit more about the lady, particularly why she decided to book with Akari since Alicia didn't seem to know her.

As the video pans down... there always seems to be a slight flicker or something out of sync with it... could more MB's help the cause?

I don't see it :X

If your computer is barely capable of playing h264, then that's the issue - when you have pans, there's tons of motion, which pushes the bitrate (and the data that your computer has to decode) a lot higher than what's normally required, which means that if your CPU is barely up to the task for most frames, pans would make it stumble.

in regards to power required to play h264, my old PIII 1.0 GHz laptop using FFDshow with postprocessing disabled can play most 140 MB 24 minute h264 files (not sure about 150 MB - never tried it), with coreavc the same machine can hande 170 MB h264 files (again all postprocessing - deblocking - disabled).

IIRC these were 640x480 or 704x396 resolution videos.

You'd have to have a pretty weak machine to have trouble playing these aria episodes....

Having deblocking off makes encoders like me cry tears of blood.

H264 is designed so that deblocking an important part of decoding. If you turn deblocking off, you might as well go back to XviD.

Ok let's see, I have a core2quad @ 2.6GHZ with 3 Gigs of RAM and am using media player classic with cccp. I get the same issue on my Pentium D, celeron etc as well but both play h264 just fine. I don't disable anything and install the default for mpc but this deblocking, I didn't notice it in any of the option panels. Where do I check? I mean it can't be processing power as it never takes up more then 5%.

I was wondering, could it just be the source? I mean it's smooth but just seems to skip a couple of frames which makes it look jumpy.

I think this is the box for post processing, is there anything I need to change.

when I want to watch on my laptop I don't have much choice, lol (I rarely use it to watch though).

dashno, you need to check the postprocessing box on the left menu region or the box at the top left if you want postprocessing enabled.

and silverfire... this is probably something you can answer... of the extra options on that page... such as processing strength, accurate deblocking, etc... which will result in the highest quality video? I would assume there is such a thing as overprocessing so I normally leave my settings as his are right now (just with postprocessing enabled...).

I have been playing around with the settings but I haven't seen any difference. To be honest could just be Vista's problem. Should have kept Xp. Confused Razz

I wouldn't know a thing about the settings on that page :X

Personally, I shelled out the money for CoreAVC, but there's a certain Swedish harbor that can give aid you should you choose otherwise.

libavcodec has gotten quite a bit faster in the months since, but I believe CoreAVC is still in the double digits of how much percent faster it is compared to libavcodec. Worth a shot if your box is shitting bricks.

Oh and Vista can lick some salty horse nuts.

lol

I have coreAVC but I figured that was only needed on old computers. Ehh not like a couple of frames matter anyways but maybe I'll try it later.

Although you're mistaken, Vista doesn't lick salty horse nuts; Vista is salty horse nuts. Wink Razz
